Technical Specification
If you are booking Sneaker, there is very little for you to worry about. Josh, our own sound engineer, comes with us to every single show. He mixes the whole band from his own desk and hands your front of house one clean stereo feed. Nothing for you to patch, nothing for you to learn.
And if your room has no PA at all, that is not a problem either. We are completely self-contained — we bring the PA, the sound and the lighting with us.
What we bring
- Our own engineer at every show — Josh, mixing on a Behringer WING
- A full PA system for rooms that don't have one
- Our own lighting rig
- Pro-level equipment throughout, all of it maintained and gig-ready
- Guitars and bass straight in on DI, so there is no backline to mic up
- Mics for the drums and vocals, all of it into Josh's desk
Inputs
Guitars and bass go in on DI; vocals and the drum kit are miked. It all arrives at Josh's desk either way. We haven't listed channel numbers because he patches to suit the room — he'll confirm the list with your engineer on the day if you have one.
| Source | Feed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sophie — lead vocals | Mic | Front and centre |
| Sophie — acoustic guitar | DI | — |
| Rob — lead guitar | DI | Boss GT-1000, straight to the desk |
| Rob — vocals | Mic | Lead and backing |
| Mark — guitar and mandolin | DI | Boss GX-100 |
| Jason — bass | DI | DI'd direct, no cab |
| Tony — drums | Mics | Miked up, into the same desk. Josh brings the mics |
What that means for your room
- No guitar or bass cabs pointed at your customers — the guitars and bass go in direct rather than through backline.
- Everything lands in one desk, Josh's, including the drum mics. There is nothing for your system to manage beyond the feed he gives you.
- A quick line check rather than a long soundcheck.
- If you have a sound limiter, tell us in advance and Josh will set up around it.
Stage plan
Drawn the usual way round — as if you are standing in the audience looking at the stage, so stage left appears on the right of the diagram.
- Sophie — lead vocals and acoustic guitar. Centre, at the front.
- Rob — lead guitar and vocals. Stage left, at the front.
- Mark — guitar and mandolin. Stage right, at the front.
- Tony — drums. Centre, behind the band.
- Jason — bass. Stage left, behind Rob.
- Josh — sound and lighting, out front at the desk.
What we need from you
- Somewhere to set up. We have played everything from proper stages to the corner of a pub. Tell us roughly what you have and we will make it work.
- Power. Two standard 13A sockets near the performance area is ideal. If there is only one, we will manage.
- Load-in and parking. Somewhere to get the gear in, and somewhere to leave a vehicle while we play.
- A word about your PA. If you have a house system, a limiter, or an in-house engineer, just let us know in advance and Josh will work with it.
Anything else you need to know, ask — we would far rather sort it out before the day than on it.
